The General’s Library adds another title…

So…I stopped in at a local Goodwill over the weekend and came across this book that I’m looking forward to reading. Yep, I hate to say it…people drop their IU items off at their local Goodwill. But then again, I don’t — as I’ve found a few IU items here and there at a Goodwill store before, including a vintage ceiling light shade that looks like it came straight out of Nick’s on Kirkwood.

The title of the book is “Getting Open: The Unknown Story of Bill Garrett and the Integration of College Basketball”, written by Tom Graham and Rachel Graham Cody. Paid a whole buck for it! I‘m eager to take a deeper dive into this IU legend and see the lens through which this book is written — Indiana University and Bill Garrett were pioneers in both the game and even more importantly, ushering in progress and change as part of the civil rights movement.
