Knight Time Rewind: January 6, 1993
On this day in 1993, Indiana University coach Bob Knight earns his 600th career coaching victory by defeating the visiting Iowa Hawkeyes 75-67. At 52 years old, he becomes the youngest coach in history to achieve the feat. This victory would also mark the beginning of 13 straight Big Ten wins to start Big Ten conference play and an eventual outright Championship. Knight would end up skipping the post-game presser, sending in someone to tell the media he needed to prepare for a hunting trip the following day. Go Hoosiers!
600…and counting!
Today is a historic day for this site — the 600th item of basketball memorabilia was added today! To pay homage, read about Coach Knight’s 600th career victory while coaching the Indiana University Hoosiers basketball team. Go IU!
