Knight Time Rewind: January 7, 1928

On this day in 1928, sophomore center Branch McCracken would single handedly outscore visiting Chicago, establishing an IU and Big Ten record by scoring 24 points in a 31-13 victory. Also sharing some history in 2001…Kirk Haston would splash one from deep at the buzzer to upset #1 Michigan State, ending MSU’s 23 game winning streak. This victory marked the first time Indiana had beaten the top team in the country at Assembly Hall.
